Myofascial Injections

What conditions are commonly treated by our Myofascial Trigger Point Injections?

Since our Trigger Point Injections are intended to provide nutrients into your muscles and tendons in order to accelerate the healing process and relieve the pain you are experiencing, most conditions affecting your muscles and tendons will benefit from these injections.

These conditions include:

· Active Trigger Points causing Myofascial Pain

· Muscular Spasms or Stiffness

· Muscle Cramps (Calf Muscle!)

· Numbness or Tingling

· Tendinitis (Acute or Chronic)

· Tenosynovitis of the Hands, Wrist & Feet

· Plantar Fasciitis & Achilles Tendinitis

· Whiplash Injuries (Car Accidents)

· Sciatica & Piriformitis (Piriformis Syndrome)

· Carpal Tunnel & Trigger Finger

· Calcific Tendinitis (Tendon Calcification)

· Bone Spurs (Osteophytes)

· Epicondylitis (Golfer’s & Tennis Elbow)

· Rotator Cuff  Injuries & Golfer’s Shoulder

· TMJ (Jaw Pain)

· Fasciitis (Inflammation of the tissue under the skin that surrounds muscles, nerves, fat, and blood vessels).

· Acute & Chronic Pain of the Spine, Low Back, Mid Back, Neck, Shoulders, Arms, Elbows, Wrists, Fingers, Hips, Legs, Knees, Feet, Ankles, Toes…

How do I know if my pain could be due to Myofascial Trigger Points? By pressing on your pain!

You will feel:

1.  A localized painful spot while pressing on the

muscles where the pain is. This is a “trigger point.”

2.  Tight muscle fibers (a taut band or knot) on the muscle or neighboring muscles.

3.  A radiating or shooting pain with pressure over the pain-spot “trigger point.”

4.  There may be difficulty moving the involved muscles due to stiffness, spasms, or pain.

5.  Sometimes there will be partial weakness, tingling or difficulty performing activities of daily living while using the involved muscles.

Are your Trigger Point Injections the same as other trigger point injections advertised elsewhere at other clinics?  No!

Most practitioners use “Steroid Medications” (Prednisone / Cortisone) in their injections. These medications are well known to cause tendon detachment (rupture), tissue death (necrosis) and cell toxicity to the muscles being injected and other systemic side effects like weight gain, muscle weakness, lower resistance to infection, blurred vision, osteoporosis, onset of, or worsening of diabetes and high blood pressure, stomach irritation, difficulty sleeping, cataracts, glaucoma…the list keeps on going!

This creates an inability for the body tissues to repair by using their own growth factors.

At our clinic we use homeopathic medications, herbal extracts, dextrose, vitamins, amino acids, peptides, minerals and other natural substances to accelerate the healing process of your body and eliminate the pain you may be experiencing. Any of these substances could be added to your injections in order to  customize the injectables to your body’s specific needs.

I have been diagnosed with tendinitis, can these injections help me? Yes.

Tendinitis is an inflammatory condition that affects the tendons. Your muscles are attached to your bones by tendons. Excessive use or misuse of any muscle can cause inflammation or micro-trauma to the tendons they are attached.

When a muscle contracts, it can exert an excessive force on the tendons and their attachment to the bone causing a microscopic or large tear. The body’s way of repairing this damage is by causing inflammation which produces new collagen fibers and growth factors to repair this damage. However, too much inflammation is not good since it can create long term calcification or bone spurs around the tendon sheet. This could lead to chronic pain and disability. These injections can help regulate the inflammation and repair the tendons.

Can you treat bone spurs and calcification of tendons? Yes!

At our clinic we can inject a combination of natural medications used to aid in dissolving excessive localized calcium deposits of tendons and bone spurs.

Can these injections help reduce my pain and heal the scarred tissue faster after surgery or an accident? Yes!

At our clinic we can customize these injections (a mixture of enzymes, amino acids, vitamins, etc.) to accelerate the healing of damaged or scarred muscle tissue after a surgical procedure or a traumatic injury to the muscles, tendons and skin.  This mixture may be used whenever we see patients with chronic muscle pain as in Sciatica Pain caused by muscle rigidity or fibrosis, or into any scarred tissue that may be causing pain or healing poorly or slowly. Most of the time, scars due to surgeries or an accident will create nerve entrapments and damage, causing the scarred tissue to strangulate and damage these nerves. If left untreated, this scarred tissue could lead to chronic pain, suffering and long term disability.
